All seasons are great fun in Kamloops. Water sports include fishing (lakes and rivers), boating, kayaking and diving. Try an adventurous trip river rafting down the Adams River or an interesting guided tour down the Thompson on a jet boat or a sternwheeler. Or perhaps you’re into rockhounding and fossils - have a guide take you to the favoured spots and give you a little natural history as well. We have trails for hiking and biking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

Our golfing is second to none comprising both recreational and championship level courses. In winter there is marvelous skiing at Sun Peaks, an undiscovered treasure with superb runs and short lift lines. Families should try the “tubing” runs at Harper Mountain as well as the skiing. We also have a wide variety of cross-country ski and snowmobile experiences for everyone within 30 minutes of Kamloops.

Kamloops is the “Tournament Capital of Canada” We have sporting events of all kinds throughout the year - youngsters to oldsters. We have had the pleasure of hosting the Labatt’s Brier (national curling championship), BC Summer Games, the BC Senior Games and various other national and provincial championships for all ages. In addition, we have our own junior hockey team - the Kamloops Blazers. Whatever the season, you’re bound to be able to take in a game at one of our parks or arenas.

Culturally speaking, Kamloops has its own symphony orchestra, theatre company and Art Gallery. The Kamloopa Pow-wow (August) is a fantastic display of First Nations arts and culture with contests and demonstrations of drum music and dancing. We also have the Kamloops Museum and the Secwepmec Museum and Heritage Park.
